This course provides comprehensive instruction on state-of-the-art lighting practices. In a basic straightforward manner, the course modules provide up to date material on systems, equipment, calculation procedures, and terminology. This six week course is ideal for individuals relatively new to the lighting industry, having only a basic awareness of lighting, and for professionals who want a thorough overview of the field. The cost of Fundamentals of Lighting course material is included in the registration fee.

Course Dates – Spring 2018:

April 10 - Overview (history, professional practice, vision, color, light & health)
April 17 - Electric light sources & auxiliary gear
April 24 - Luminaires
May 1 - Controls
May 8 - No Class (LightFair)
May 15 - Lighting Design Process
May 22 - Exteriors, including sustainability, commissioning, light pollution
May 29 - Interiors, including sustainability, commissioning
